My New Digs

Shhhhh....It's finally Saturday and the staff is sleeping in. My staff is usually up before the chickens during the week, so on Saturday & Sunday mornings it's quite time..shhhhh. But I know a trick to get one of the staff members up really fast. I start banging my tail on the doors and walls and then Walla!! One of the staff is up pronto, of course sometimes with a few choice words, but we won't get into that. The important thing is, now we can get let out and have our breakfast ;o)...Which I may add, is the most important meal of the day...but then so is lunch hmmmmm... the more I think about it, so is dinner! and of course you can't forget the snacks ;o)

My new Digs are being assembled. The staff is laying down the tarp, of course I must supervise making sure the duct tape is straight. I guess earlier the staff was having an disagreement on the color of the tarp, one wanted a brilliant azure blue, the other, a lovely silver color. I thought the azure blue went well with my coloring, so blue it is.

Now I am supervising the actual assembly of "The Whelping Box". "Hey Staff, make sure you get it tight so my little ones don't fall out". This will be my new home for several weeks. It actually has a door and a lovely fence that goes around my new blue yard, which by the way, the staff thinks it will keep me in....I DON'T THINK SO! I have no problem jumping out when I need to, especially when I hear food. I might be a little portly right now, but I still have my agility skills.

Here it is, I guess it will do, but it does need a little furniture, which I guess will be coming later since I was told I am sleeping in here tonight....I DON'T THINK SO! Before I decide I am moving in, I think I need to get the approval of my Golden family.

Looks like they are giving it a real good sniff test. They have to make sure everything checks out and I think they have given it a PAWS UP!

HEY MARIAH, GET AWAY
FROM MY FOOD CONTAINER!
I'll let you know if I move in tonight. Still waiting for the furniture and of course my new bowls, gotta have all new stuff..ya know.
Have a good one!

My Golden Sister

Hey, Me again (I just love blogging) I was going to update you on my sister Merlot. This morning Staff#1 hauled her in again to the clinic to meet with that nice lady named Mary. I guess the nice lady named Mary told the staff that "Things" would NOT be happening until Monday and Tuesday of next week. OK??? What does that all mean? Geeee, Sorry I thought I would have more gossip for you, but I really don't understand what they were saying. I think they are talking in some kind of code. Merlot keeps bugging me to teach her how to blog and when I know she is ready, I will teach her, I am sure she will blab everything then. Goldens are like that.

Now I need to go outside and get a snack and catch some zzzzzzzzzzzzzz's. Yawn, I am tired, the puppies wear me out. I think those puppies are going to be 5 pounders each!

Meet Winston

E-O's

That's Me chewing a bone, one of my staff thought it would be really cute to take a picture of me while I was not looking...ha ha, very funny Staff #2, I see you cut my head off too. Just wait, I know how to use the camera too :o)-

Would you like to meet Winston? He is the puppies daddy and he is tall, dark and handsome (well maybe not tall, but handsome & dark). His registered name is Winston Of Old Oak. He is 5 years old. I guess allot of his family is from England. WOW, that is SO neat! He doesn't seem to bark with an accent???
Hey!!! Come to think of it, I think mine are too. I keep forgetting, cause I was born in Michigan...silly me. OK, here is the pic of Winston. His tongue is not as big as mine! I am very proud of my tongue ;o) It must be a British thing, chap!

Winston

I am so glad tomorrow is Saturday. All of my staff should be home, hopefully I will get extra walks and treats. Maybe we will have a spot of Tea & Crumpets? (that's my British coming out) This weekend must be a busy one, I heard stuff like, Cleaning, tarp, whelping box, supplies...I wonder what all that means?? Geee, I should have studied my human speech better.
Oh well, as long as I get in my meals, walks and naps, I will be happy.

Being Professional

Happy Friday, The Staff is away so I thought I would sneak a little computer time. I was looking at my blog thinking it needed a little tweaking, it did not look very professional. Ya Know, I'm all about being Professional. You are not going crazy and seeing things, I have changed the format. First I changed the colors, naw, didn't work for me, too lame. I settled on this one and I think it looks really Cool! And very Professional. Top this one Cheers! Just kidding, yours is awesome.

My staff is once again hauling Merlot to the clinic to see that nice lady named Mary for another blood test. I don't remember why, but there was some talk about if the numbers were right then they were going to be doing a shipment or having something shipped. Not really sure of what they were talking about. Texas was mentioned too. Wow, that is a long ways away. I will have to find out more and get back to you when I find out more details.

Better go for now. I need my nap. I hope the Staff gets home by noon so I can have my lunch!

Alien Dog

Hi, Day 2 of my Puppy Blog. I'm still learning new things about this blogging thing, but it's fun. Not much happened today except for the snow, I just love snow. Staff 1 took me out today and I got to play with my tennis ball. I also wanted to show you my figure. I am usually a Lean, Mean, Hunting Machine, but as you can see, the leaness has gone away. Staff #1 (Scooter) took this picture and he always makes my eyes glow, What's Up With That??? It makes me looks like I am ALIEN DOG from another planet. I guess that would go with The Friday The 13th Theme wouldn't it? Maybe someday staff #2 will show Staff #1 how to use the digital camera.
Oh well, nuff of that, back to me...I still have 2 weeks left before the little aliens arrive. I can't remember what I looked like last year, I am trying to figure out how many I will have. All I know is that I am so hungry all the time. I thought I heard one of the staff members say something about hard boiled eggs and I am sure I heard my name being mentioned. Oh that sounds so good! I will make sure I stay awake so I don't miss any.

The staff says that my Golden Sister Merlot is in season and staff 1 keeps running her to the clinic to see that nice lady named Mary.....OH NO!! Run Merlot Run, you might look like me soon... RUN!!! before it's too late......Wait a minute...What's That noise...sniff sniff....I better go check on those eggs...
See ya,

Friday The 13th

Just a little note...I just realized that I am due on Friday The 13th...hmmmm? I hope The Staff doesn't come up with a lame thing like "Let's do a Friday The 13th Theme" I really don't want my babies to be named Jason, or Freddie (opps sorry Barb A, you know what I mean). So let's hope the nice lady named Mary at the clinic is wrong with my date!

Well, it's time for a bedtime snack and then I am hitting the sheets, I need my beauty sleep. These puppies are starting to make me tired and that's hard to do.

Rio

Welcome To My Puppy Blog

Hi, My name is Rio and welcome to my new Puppy Blog. I am a Black Labrador Retriever. I am 4 years old and I live in Minnesota with my owners Scooter and Melvin. Who you say??? My owners are shy and don't want their real names used so Iwill use their nicknames...that's silly I know, but they are human, what can I say? They have given me a couple of nickname too and they are sure silly...E-O's and Freak Face! I haven't a clue where they got Freak Face from? I also live with 5 Golden Retrievers... 3 Golden sisters and 2 Golden brothers, they're pretty cool for Goldens.
My friend Cheers (another golden of course) showed me how to blog, she does it all the time and she is really good at it so I thought I would give it a whirl. OK, I must tell you, I am expecting...Yup, they did it to me again, Prego's, I've lost that girlish figure ;o(
I had a litter last year on March 17th and I have to tell you, I did not Win any Mother Of The Year Awards. Being a mother really is not my thing. I would rather be out hunting up birds or chasing down tennis balls or sticks or just about anything, but not puppies...Hello??? But here I am again so I guess I will do the best I can this time, since Scooter told me this would be the last. The puppies father's name is Winston and I thought he was the cutest boy ever! But now I don't think he's so cute, because I look like a house right now and that nice lady at the clinic, I think her name is Mary, told me my due date is March 13th! Yikes!!! that is just alittle over 2 weeks away, I will look like a Hippo at that time...sigh, oh poor me.
I will keep you posted on my progress with new blogs and pictures. Please keep checking for new blogs. This is new for me and it's not easy for a Fat Lab to type.
I guess the whelping box, whatever a whelping box is, will be assembled this weekend...oh goody. My Staff, Scooter & Melvin (Cheers told me to call them that) said that I have to get use to The Whelping Box! Ha! Ya right.
